SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

STUDENT INTERVENTIONS:       

  • Classes are offered in reading and written language, math, algebra, handwriting, social communication skills and study skills.

  • Scholarships are available based on family income and need for the service.

  • All services are available on the Twin Falls campus.  Reading and writing instruction is offered on the Buhl campus at Popplewell Elementary School

1. READING, WRITING, MATH AND ALGEBRA

Summer Session Schedule:  

Monday, June 9- Thursday, August 7, 2008

 

Small group instruction is available on the following schedule:

Two 1½ hour sessions a week for nine weeks either Monday/Wednesday or Tues/Thursday.  Class times are either 9:00-10:30 am or 

11:00 - 12:30 pm or 

1:00 to 2:30 pm  depending on placement.

Cost: $360 for the session.   Scholarships are available based on family income and the student's need for the service.

 

School Year Schedule:

Fall Session - September 8th - November 13th 2008

Winter Session - January 5- March 12 2009

Spring Session - March 29-June 5 2009

 

During the school year students attend twice a week classes for one hour either Monday/Wednesday or Tues/Thursday.  Classes usually run from 4:00-5:00 pm and 5:00-6:00 pm for 10 weeks. 

Cost: $260 for the session.  Scholarships are available based on family income and the student's need for the service.  

 

 

2. HANDWRITING CLASSES

Summer Session Schedule (Offered during the summer only):

Monday June 9-Thursday, August 7, 2008

Small group instruction is available in two 1/2 hour sessions a week for 9 weeks either on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.  Class times are either 10-30-11:00 or 12:30-1:00. 

Cost: $120.  Scholarships are available based on family income and the student's need for the service.

 

 

3. SOCIAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Summer Session Schedule (Offered during the summer only):

Small group activity based instruction once a week on Wednesdays from either 9-11 am or 11 am - 1 pm. 

Cost:  $300 for the session.  Scholarships are available based on family income and the student's need for the service.

 

 

4. STUDY SKILLS

For older elementary, middle and high school students who are doing poorly in school because they are failing to turn in work, having difficulties with organization or seem to have more knowledge than they are able to demonstrate on a test. 

 

The next series of classes will be from September 8th - November 10  2008. 

 

Classes are once a week for one hour.  Parents are required to attend the last 10 minutes of class to learn the assignment for the week.

 

Cost: $225  Scholarships are available based on family income and need for the service.

 

CLASSES FOR PARENTS:  

 

1. CLASSES FOR CHILDREN WITH ADHD AND THEIR PARENTS

Two hour "introductory" classes for parents on how to parent the ADHD child run from 6 pm to 8pm and will be offered on the following dates:

Wednesday September 24th, 2008

Tuesday October 21st, 2008

Wednesday November 19, 2008

Tuesday January 27th, 2009

Wednesday February 25th, 2009

Tuesday, March 24th 2009

Tuesday May 26th, 2009

Wednesday June 24th, 2009

  

After taking the 2 hour introductory classes, if a parent feels they need more help, they can attend a five-week session.  The five week sessions are offered twice a year.   Parents must have attended one of the introductory classes before they can enroll in this course.  The next five week session will be offered on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm February 3- March 3rd 2009.

Cost: $10/person for the 2 hour

            $100/person for the five week.  Scholarships are

 available based on family income and need for the service.

 

 

2.   PARENT CLASSES ON THE LANGUAGE! CURRICULUM  Parent Classes in the LANGUAGE! Curriculum  offered twice during each 10-week reading and writing session.

The  parent curriculum the Center is using for these classes is available in written form at no charge for anyone who is interested.
